Luxury is not a price tag

The Unseen Price of True Luxury
We live in a world often defined by price tags. The gleam of a precious stone, the supple touch of handcrafted leather, the dizzying cost of a rare vintage – these are the markers our society often uses to define luxury. Yet, a deeper understanding reveals that true luxury resides far beyond the realm of mere monetary value. It's an experience, a feeling, a state of being that no amount of currency can truly capture.
As the insightful Coco Chanel once quipped, "Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury." Her words remind us that true indulgence isn't about ostentation or exorbitant cost, but about a seamless integration of quality and ease. A truly luxurious item or experience should enhance our lives, not burden us with its preciousness or discomfort.
Consider the quiet joy of a perfectly brewed cup of tea at dawn, the sun painting the sky with hues of gold and rose. Or the profound connection felt during a heartfelt conversation with a loved one, time momentarily suspended. These moments, rich in their intrinsic value, carry no price tag, yet they embody a profound sense of luxury.
The Roman poet Horace captured this sentiment beautifully in his own way:
Non aurum posco, nec argetum, nec gemmae pretiosas,
Nec domus marmorea, Cytheraea puer.
(I ask not for gold, nor silver, nor precious gems, Nor a marble house, boy of Cythera.)

While Horace's context was different, his yearning for something beyond material wealth resonates with the idea that true fulfillment, a cornerstone of true luxury, lies in experiences and connections rather than possessions alone.
Think about the luxury of time – the unhurried moments to pursue a passion, to simply be present, to allow creativity to flow. In our relentlessly fast-paced world, such moments are increasingly rare and therefore, incredibly precious. Can a price be assigned to the feeling of unburdened time?
The renowned author Anaïs Nin eloquently stated, "Luxury is not a necessity to me, but beautiful things are." This distinction is crucial. While luxury often involves beautiful things, its essence lies in the feeling these things evoke or the experience they facilitate, not just their inherent cost. A simple wildflower discovered on a quiet walk can possess a beauty that rivals the most expensive bouquet, offering a moment of pure, unadulterated joy.
Perhaps a modern-day couplet can further illuminate this idea:
The richest silk may gather dust untold,
But cherished memories, a story to unfold.
This simple verse highlights the ephemeral nature of material wealth compared to the enduring value of experiences and relationships, which form the bedrock of a truly luxurious life.
Ultimately, the definition of luxury is deeply personal. While a fortunate few may have access to extravagant material possessions, the truest forms of luxury – peace of mind, meaningful connections, moments of beauty, and the freedom of time – are accessible to all, irrespective of their financial standing. They are the unseen treasures that enrich our lives immeasurably, proving that indeed, luxury is far beyond any price tag.

Luxury is not cost only

Like i said in todays world luxury cannot be measured by the money spent. The game is do we know what I want and why i want this. In my case i want things because they are unique, one of its kind, originally they are meant for some other use and most important that is what makes my soul happy. Just like above photo, it is Luxury because in Delhi with a 100% concreate house with not much sunlight and hardly big money i was able to create this patchy roof top garden. I toll on it every morning because when that small flowers start showing it color it makes my day colorfull. I spend the morning with them and they make me spend the rest day little more creative and more usefull. So i will say it is not about money. In today's world luxury is something very basic which touches your innerself. It touches that person which you were when you used to laugh as kid and your laugh brought smile around every elders face.
IF TODAY AS BIG BUSY PERSON YOU CAN HOLD, TOUCH OR DO THAT THEN YOU HAVE LUXURY. YOU ARE RICHEST SOUL. It may have some or huge cost linked to it but just cost is the measure of LYXURY I dont agree.

LIFE AT 40+

I have learned that what we think life is as what we experience and there are many aspects of this at many places with many changes.
I have lived whole of my life in INDIA and by the time you have spent 40 years you get into a specific mold and same happened with me though I don't have the view point matching with that mold but i still got into it because the environment get you that. The best part is that you don't want it, want to revolt but still follow and do that only. I know THAT and MOLD is not making any sense because all this is nonsense. We are a single unit on this EARTH but we add too many subjective in life. Please remember that we have been told life is all about subjective and not objectives. Unfortunately what are subjective is taught to us from day one of life as OBJECTIVE OF LIFE.
We get wrapped in subjects and start running a mechanized life... after some time of life at the juncture of 40 I realize that all that we have woven around us and all that we have done till today is holding my life and does not add any value or much value. That is when we face crises of life and have a tussle and self realization start setting in, but know those subjective woven webs hold you from doing anything differently as your OBJECTIVE and any push and pull will hurt you mentally and physically so you let go and same subjective drive as OBJECTIVE and starts running again.
We need to realize that many will not be effected by you their in life or not and if they are affected that is because the subjective gains they had from you taken as OBJECTIVE. And as the requirement is subjective they will find or for sure they have to find the other sources. So nothing stops without us and life will continue and with different subjective source it may change the outlook to some level but ultimately it still remains subjective in nature.
So I am also in that same dilemma and want to break subjective but not able to, so you are not only wrong even I am also in same boat.
I have realised that we need to teach this at least as difference of subjective and OBJECTIVE of life to our next generation so that in time of 2-3 next generation this outlook changes. At no given time I say that you don't have soulmates and offsprings are just subjective, what I am saying is that they are part of the life to play certain roles in achieving our individual objectives. They may also add value to objective but they can't be objective of the whole surrounding.
I am not sure but the life I know of the environment around me, lives by dreaming of our own life objectives and normally without a souls as subjective attached to my subjective LIFE.
